Chemical Clutter

March 22, 2016

“In the last 50 years, approximately 86,000 new chemicals have been introduced into the environment and only about 200 of them have been assessed for their impact on our health” (Norwex)

Chemicals are lurking underneath the kitchen and bathroom sinks, in the laundry room and out in the garage. When cleaning out these areas with clients we find all kinds of old, forgotten cleaners that have been shoved in the back of the cabinet or didn’t deliver as promised and replaced by a new cleaner but never disposed of. Old paint from the previous home owners with rusted lids line the garage wall and mystery chemicals from no one remembers when or where.

Besides the ramifications of these chemicals taking up precious cabinet and floor space they can also affect us by:

  • Attributing to allergies either skin or asthma
  • Creating a toxic hazard to children and pets that might get access to these chemicals without our supervision. (Please lock up chemicals!) AND Create toxic waste in our environment

Don’t let these harmful chemicals take up valuable space in your home! Purge one area at the time leaving only the chemicals that you feel good about using.
